Listen to a Hootin' Annies cut from their new CD

So the Annies get invited to Silver Dollar City in Branson Missouri to participate in their Third Annual National Single Mic Contest .  First reaction?   Wow, there are some really good pickers here!  But the judges thought the Annies were pretty good as well, and they came home with a fourth place award.

Here they are performing an Ozarks song that Annie fans have enjoyed for some time.

 Who is the 2009 Midwest Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America Bass Player of the Year?? (HINT - She plays a great bass for the Annies, and her first name starts with "Karla.") 
Way to go, Girl.

And not only that award, but nominations for:
Best Bluegrass Album of the Year - "Annie Up"
Best Female Vocalist of the Year - Contemporary - Karla Campbell
Best Entertaining Group of the Year
Best Enteraining Vocalist of the Year - Karla Campbell

Well, they've done it again. They are not content, just to play on stage, they have to jam from morning to night.   Here are photos of recent "jammie jams".

And why is Alan Prater smiing so big in the background?  Maybe because he just booked the Annies for another Prater Family concert.  Or maybe he just likes to be seen with six women.
