The Hootin' Annies are a group of 5 women with varied musical backgrounds. We got to know each other at various
Bluegrass clubs, and by a chance meeting in an elevator at Hallmark Cards, where 4 of the 5 are employed. Together, they have been performing since 2003 at Bluegrass festivals, Bluegrass clubs, private parties, and
have headlined the Rural Grit Happy Hour at the legendary Kansas City Blues club, The Grand Emporium, as well as Kansas City's Monday Home of Bluegrass, The Brick.
